This video demonstrates the steps of the repair of a damaged metal shaft of a cooling tower fan, in situ, using ENECON's METALCLAD DurAlloy advanced repair compound. Since using a lathe is not possible, you will witness some "imagineering", i.e. the use of a PVC pipe form to 'shape' the repair. Engineers are thereby able to fix the damaged shaft without removing it from the cooling tower. Repairing a damaged jetfoil with ENECON’s CeramAlloy CP+AC, CeramAlloy CL+AC and DuraTough DL. After in-house repair attempts were unable to fix the cavitation and erosion damage to this jet nozzle, the job was done speedily and effectively using ENECON advanced polymer composites. Repair workers were able to strip the residual coating to show the entire cavitation damage and applied CeramAlloy CP+AC to repair the damaged area. CeramAlloy CL+AC was used to provide a new resurfaced coating to the inside of the jet nozzle. And lastly, DuraTough was applied to provide an extra coating in the areas prone to cavitation.
